Our Chief Learning Officer Sandi Stanhope is bringing back a *NEW* cohort of teacher leaders interested in collaborating with All Learners Network for the 2023-2024 school year. The goal of the meeting is to work together on problems of practice, build pedagogical content knowledge through looking at student work and math tasks, and share and develop resources to use in your math classrooms. The first cohort meeting will provide the opportunity to collectively build a structure for the rest of the meetings that will be meaningful and goal oriented.

It is important to have deep content knowledge at your own grade level to ensure your instruction is effective for all learners. This means as a teacher, not just knowing how to do the math but understanding also how students will progress, develop and refine their thinking and problem solving skills within the most important concepts.

In a Multi-Layer System of Support, some students benefit from an additional layer of instruction to support their understanding of grade level content while also building understanding of priority concepts from previous grade levels. This workshop is aimed at this need with a specific focus on math content in grades K-2.

We all want children to have easy access to additive facts to 20 (or even 100!). However, we often sacrifice understanding for automaticity. In this workshop, we will explore models of recall and memory, the importance of knowing and using additive facts, and techniques for improving recall and fluency. Participants will leave with strategies they can apply immediately.

Launch (often a Number Talk or short problem) is the first component of the All Learners Network lesson approach. The purpose of this workshop is to inspire participants to reimagine how they use the first five to fifteen minutes of their math block for purposeful, discussion-rich number sense routines in their classroom. Launch is the vehicle for powerful instructional routines which are amplified through consistent exposure over time. Through intentional problem selection teachers encourage students to own the conversation and their learning.

Consider a math classroom learning environment where all students are meaningfully engaged in grade-level learning. Students are working independently or in small groups, engaging in math learning opportunities that provide both struggle and stretch for all students and seamlessly move throughout the learning space to access manipulatives and tools to construct meaning. This type of learning environment requires proactive design of our instruction. In this one-hour workshop, we will explore the key components of instructional design that proactively considers entry points for all students, rather than reactively providing accommodations halfway through the lesson. This includes analyzing the learning goals of the lesson, anticipating the variability of our students, and implementing instructional strategies that provide options for all learners.
